It is hard to say goodbye to old habits, places, dreams. But people are the hardest. Sometimes it is a “just for now” or “see you soon” goodbye. But it is still hard. Change is hard. Letting go of your ideas and opinions is hard.
In the midst of a hard night, I saw these verses from Bible Gateway, Ephesians 3: 17-19:
“so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”
God does not stop loving us with a love that we cannot understand or begin to copy! So God, in the middle of hard days and nights, thank You for Your love, and how You have shown it to us. Please help me to say goodbye in that same powerful love. Please bless those who are leaving, and thank You for the time they spent in my life. Amen.
