A different view of God

Pondering these verses tonight. This is like God’s mini autobiography. In a way, that is what the whole Bible is…but this is a good summary.

Exodus 34:6-7:

The Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and the children’s children, to the third and the fourth generation.”

God, thank You for this clear picture of who You are and how You love without neglecting the problems. Because they are real, the need is real, and You have a very real solution. To You be the glory, Amen.
