My first thought was the Lord Of The Rings, the beacon of Minas Tirath, calling to Rohan for aid in battle. A beacon fire lit on one of the far hills would be visible for miles around. A call for aid or a witness of hope.
My second thought was of Matthew 5:14-16:
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. – Matthew 5:14-16 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew5:14-16&version=ESV
How far does my light shine?
God thank You for the insights of this weekend and the imagery that speaks so clearly in the Bible of how we are to represent You to the world. Please help me to shine brightly as a beacon tothe hope of Your truth. Amen.
